Spring Fun by Guest Bloggers Summit and Lucas R.

Here are some of the activities leading up to April vacation by guest bloggers Summit and Lucas R.

Did anyone trick their mom or dad with our bunnies and bears?

We went on a field trip to the Capital Center for the Arts.  We saw Curious George and the Golden Meatball.  Chef Pisghetti didn't what to go to the meatball competition but Curious George  really wanted him to.  Curious George snuck into a box and went to Rome on an airplane.  Chef Pisghetti and the Man the with the Yellow Hat went to find him.  At first they couldn't find Curious George but they did just in time. George followed Chef's recipe and won the golden meatball contest because George realized the secret ingredient is love.
Lucas was being silly when we were waiting for the show to start.

Samantha and Lauryn were having a good time.

We brought books to read before the show started.
Alice and Madison and Lia were reading together.

Clara was being funny and Lucas R. was reading books like crazy!

Summit and Charlie could not wait for the show to get started. They were excited.

Back at school...

We went on a nature scavenger hunt.  We had to find things like a bird house, rocks, moss and lots of other things.

We found a seed near the birdhouse.

We all thought it was so warm out.  We ran around without jackets.

We climbed on the sign for a picture. It was hot up there!

When we found things we had to check them off.
Joseph found lots of things. Everybody had lots of fun!

Mrs. Jones taught us to use number lines.  We hopped forwards
three times and backwards.  Mrs. Jones told us a number and
we had to figure out how many hops to get to another number.

This is what the number line looked like.

In math we were learning to measure.  We used
different things to measure like cubes and paper clips
instead of a ruler.

We measured how tall things were in the classroom.

We measure with paperclips and cubes.

Mrs. Maynard came to our classroom to read to us.  We surprised her with our video.
She loved our movie.  She loved the book we made her too! You can see
the book at the town library.

Thank You to Mrs. Maynard

We had such a wonderful time at the Hopkinton Town Library back in January.  Mrs. Maynard is coming to our class to read to us next week and we can't wait to see her again.  Our class made Mrs. Maynard this video to show her as a special thank you for having us at the library. (See video on right.) We can't wait to surprise her with the video and a special book that we made for her.  We know librarians love book! We have collected our opinion writing about our favorite parts of the field trip and made them into a special book.

Stay tuned for more of our opinion writing and a special video that all three kindergarten classes will make to show parents of incoming students what Harold Martin School Kindergarten is all about!
