October Fun and Fire Prevention

We enjoyed a great visit from the Hopkinton Fire Department last week! We learned about fire safety and fire prevention. A huge thank you to all of the firefighters who helped make the day so special!

Our class enjoyed exploring the fire trucks and the ambulance!

We learned what it would look and sound like if
a firefighter needed to look for us during a fire in their gear.

We also learned about tools on the ambulance.

Jacob and Matthew explore the truck.

We learned about the tools on the trucks
and how the trucks need to be taken care of.

During learning centers, we are learning to use work boards and make choices about the learning centers we work in. We have started reading books at each student's instructional level.  The books we practice will be sent home in a Book Buddy Bag for you to read with your kindergartner at home.  Keep the book to practice for a few nights and then return them to school.  We will add new books to the bag.

Natalie and Anna practice rainbow writing their
name during learning centers.

Leander and Denver work together to Read The Room
which is another center to choose from on our center work board.

We've also been busy learning and illustrating new poems
for our Poems and Charts folder.

Special thanks to Ms. Mary who came in to teach us
about the best ways to take care of our teeth!
