Thanks to everyone who attended family math night! Guest bloggers Parker and Joab explain how we got ready.
We practiced our games for Family Math night during the week. We played three games. One was called War. One was called Connect Four and the last game was a Lego math game.
|
This is the Lego math game. You had to spin the spinner and
move your Lego man on the board. You could land on
spaces that said take 3 or lose 2. Sometimes you could
land on a square that said move back two. You
had to try to get your Lego man to the finish line with the most Legos. |

It was fun practicing this game in our classroom. I love it. |

Owen and Jack play together one morning. |

This game is called Connect Four. You had to roll two
dice and count how many dots were on the dice.
Then you had to dab the matching number with your BINGO
dabber. To win, you needed to get four in a row. |
|
We also learned how to play War. You had to deal the cards
"one for you, one for me" until the cards were gone.
Then you had to flip the top card over and see which number was higher.
Whoever had the higher number got to keep the cards. If you
have the same number as your partner you had a war.
You had to put down three cards and then flip another card.
The player with the highest number won all of the cards.
The player with the most card wins. |
