We had a wonderful time visiting our town library. Thank you to Mrs. Maynard and the rest of the library staff for hosting us! This year was the first time our school had three kindergarten classes visit at the same time. Our time at the library was broken into three stations to accommodate our large group.
The first station was selecting and signing out a book. It was very exciting getting our very own library cards!

Samantha and Charlie sign their names on the back of their new library cards. |
Clara and Alice patiently wait for their turn. |
Ayler and Lauryn show off the books they found. |
Our cards are signed and ready to check-out books. |

Our happy and polite group of kindergartners. |
Our next station was a tour of the library. It included the book hospital, local history room, the book drop and the magical fireplace that turns on with a chant of..."I love books!" We saved our favorite station for last when we visited Mrs. Maynard for story time.

Teddy tries to use the book for his hat. |
Our class loved listening to Mrs. Maynard's stories. |
After we wrapped up in the library, there was plenty of time to play out in the field before lunch and stopping by the Slusser Senior Center, where we performed the songs we sang at our winter concert.
We found plenty of fun ways to spend our time in the field.
Unfortunately, the playground was all ice. |
Sledding fun in the sun! |
We squeezed into the senior center to spread some winter cheer. |
It was another wonderful performance by all three kindergarten classes. |
